Greetings! The Gorge Preservation Society is pleased to be able to open the Gorge for Visitors. Please be aware of the following guidelines:
- The cost of the tour is $10.00 per person. Membership forms for the Gorge Preservation Society will be available, and this cost can be subtracted from the membership fee. Cash or checks only.
- Hiking through the Canyon Lake Gorge can be physically demanding, and is not recommended for people with bad knees, ankles or heart conditions. Persons that are overweight may want to rethink hiking through the Gorge.

Please note that children under 7 years of age are not allowed in the Gorge. Further age restrictions noted below:
- Ages 7-10, one adult* must be present for each child.
- Ages 10-15, one adult* must be present for every 3 kids.
- Ages 16-20, one adult* for every 5 young adults
* adult = 21 or older
- Tours last an average of 3 hours. There are no restroom facilities or potable water in the Gorge.
- Tours are booked on a first come-first serve basis. Once the tour is full at 23, no more reservations will be made and requests will be denied.
- The tour may be cancelled due to weather conditions or upon recommendation of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. You will be contacted via cell phone and email if there is a cancellation.
- Individuals must sign up independent of friends or distant relatives. Multiple names will only be accepted for members of an immediate family.
- Everyone who enters the Gorge must sign and submit a Liability Release Form prior to admittance.
- Tour participants must carry bottled water with them, and are encouraged to bring a backpack so that their hands will be free.
- Tour participants must wear sneakers or hiking boots. Sandals, slick soled shoes or cowboy boots will not be allowed.
